Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set to hold a series of informal meetings over April 27 and 28 in Wuhan city, where the one-on-one conversations will focus on global, regional and bilateral issues.

The setting is Mao villa — Chairman Mao Zedong’s private home — on the banks of the East Lake, where Modi and Xi are expected to take a boat ride.

Ahead of his departure, Modi told the media his meeting Xi Jinping will “review the developments in India-China relations from a strategic and long-term perspective”.

“We will also discuss our respective visions and priorities for national development, in context of current and future international situation,” said Modi.
