Fabricate – Sandown 2.25

Fabricate could be over-priced in the Group 3 at Sandown this afternoon given he has race-fitness on his side. The son of Makfi won a Group 3 at Windsor last year after a win at Glorious Goodwood and the Queen’s runner was impressive when getting the better of a smart one at Kempton last time in Listed company. There’s every chance he will come on for that run here and his main rival Crystal Ocean may find this trip on the sharp side given he placed in the St Leger when last seen. Sir Michael Stoute’s runner will have bigger targets than this pencilled in throughout the season and Fabricate looks like a fair price to turn him over at 9/2.

Gabrial’s Star – Doncaster 5.00

Gabrial’s Star looks over-priced on his return to turf this afternoon. Marjorie Fife’s new recruit has been thriving on the all-weather over the winter, recording three wins at Southwell and his reduced turf mark makes him an attractive proposition on ground he acts on. Given he won off an 11lb higher mark last summer, he looks well-handicapped here and a useful apprentice takes 5lb off his back. The nine-year-old has each-way claims at 14/1.
