Customers of Citizens Bank were unable to access their accounts online Friday for undisclosed reasons, causing major headaches for its customers.

Phone lines to customer service also were not working. Citizens Bank is the second largest bank in the Capital Region with 23 branches and an 11 percent market share with $3.3 billion in deposits.

"Customers are currently unable to access accounts and the posting of transactions has been impacted due to a processing delay," the bank posted on its Facebook and Twitter accounts. "Our technical teams are fully engaged on this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience."
