Rs 48 lakh missing from Calangute panchayat coffers; FIR filed

Rs. 49.16 lakh has gone missing from Calangute panchayat coffers. The newly elected body which recently took over had appointed a CA to audit the accounts.The panchayat has registered a complaint & has written to the director of panchayats to conduct an inquiry into the alleged scam.The FIR was filed by panchayat secretary Raghuvir Bhagkar with the Calangute police.
