For the visitors, March was a record month in terms of hotel occupancy rates at 87.5%, and statistics shows that revenue from tourism is growing at 10% annually. Ras Al Khaimah has 5500 hotel rooms at present with 6000 rooms to be added in the coming days. Almost 5000 people have visited the emirate to try the Jebel Jais Flight ever since it was launched in February, most likely as officially is the longest zipline in the world at 2.83kms.
Four people can ride at a time in the new extensions, making it perfect for groups of friends, and they are due to be ready in July. Also, mountain biking and new hiking routes with three starting points will be extended to cover 81 kilometres, with a 30kms route to be opened by the end of this year.
A new 650-metres high luxury wilderness camp with 36 units is programmed to be developed on Jebel Jais, and it will also have family rooms, royal suites, a spa and outdoor gym. Also, there will be adventure activities tailor-made for children in the mountains, and these are scheduled to open by the end of 2020.
