Naidu pays his last respects to Vivekananda Reddy

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday paid his last respects to the mortal remains of former MLA and TDP leader Anam Vivekananada Reddy at the latter’s residence at AC Centre here.

Vivekananda Reddy, who had been ailing for sometime, died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Mr. Naidu was accompanied by Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, Agriculture Minister S. Chandramohan Reddy, party district president B. Ravichandra, and several MLAs.

He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Vivekananda Reddy had maintained close relations with his followers and activists during his long political career. Stating that the Anam family had a long political history, Mr. Naidu said Vivekananda Reddy, unlike other politicians, used to mingle with the people and protect their interests.

Mr. Naidu said Vivekananda Reddy did not accept the Minister’s post when it was offered to him, but preferred to remain in the district and serve the people.

Vivekananda Reddy’s brother and former Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy; sons Chenchu Subba Reddy and Rangamayur Reddy; and other family members were present.

Congress’ condolences

In a statement here, APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy, DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah, and a few Congress leaders conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family members.

Nellore MP M. Rajamohan Reddy and Kavali MLA R. Pratapkumar Reddy expressed their grief over the demise of Vivekananda Reddy.
