The Fort Payne Waterworks Board will hold a public meeting May 8 to discuss a project replacing a waterline downtown.

The project consists of removing old and outdated water lines and laying new ones. This project will span from Third Street South to Eighth Street North in Fort Payne. It will also include some side streets off of those, according to Fort Payne Water Department General Manager Paul Nail.
