Indore: Distressed about the 400 percent rise in maintenance charge the city industrialist has decided to protest it by holding a peaceful demonstration on May 4. The industrialist of the MSME units has opened a front against the state government, which claiming to promote the ‘Make in MP’ drive.

Alok Dave, AIMP president, informed that the state government has raised the rate of maintenance charge mentioned MP State Industrial Land and Building Management Law 2015, without taking industrial organizations into confidence. The District Industries Centre is charging the increased maintenance charge with interest and penalty.

The angered industrialist stated thatincreased charge of DIC are more than the charges levied by AKVN, which charges the large industries only and in lieu of that offers them basic amenities like roads, power and water. Whereas in DIC govern industrial areas these facilities are available to small industrial units.

The apex representative body of MSME units Association of Industries of Madhya Pradesh (AIMP) of the state called an emergency meeting of its members at its office to chalk out their strategy on Thursday. Around four years ago the state government had mooted a move to merge all the industrial areas governed by DIC into Audoyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN).

But due to stiff opposition from the industrial bodies, the plan was dropped. He said that now we have decided to do a peaceful demonstration on May 4, where we will hold a prayer session before the statue of Mahamta Gandhi, Father of nation, at Regal square and submit a memorandum to him to awaken the government out of its slumber.
