The girl was pronounced dead in hospital and police say an autopsy indicates she was stabbed to death.

Gagnon, 23, was previously charged with arson and obstructing the work of a police officer.

“For the moment, the charges we have to lay, have been laid (against Audrey Gagnon) according to the evidence we have in our possession,” said Crown prosecutor Melanie Dufour.

Dufour was unable to confirm if the police investigation into Rosalie Gagnon’s death is completed.

Audrey Gagnon will make her next court appearance on June 13th.
