Polycet tomorrow

The Polytechnic Common Entrance Test-18 (AP Polycet) will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday (April 27), said Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Board of Technical Education and Training (ABSET) and Special Commissioner for Technical Education G.S. Panda Das.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Das said 1,34,634 candidates had registered for the exam this year. The key would be released on April 29 and the results on May 9. The exam would be held in 368 centres and candidates must reach the exam hall by 10 a.m.

He said candidates who did not get their hall tickets could approach the helpline centres or secure them through online mode. The question paper would be of 120 marks (60 for mathematics, 30 for physics and 30 for chemistry). To qualify, a candidate must secure a minimum of 30 %. There is no qualifying marks for SCs and STs and those who write the exam would get a seat.

He said there was a 10 % increase in the number of applicants this year.
