‘Ishq Tera’ actor Mohit Madaan: Never had shameless kind of love towards someone

Mohit Madaan will next be seen in the upcoming thriller, ‘Ishq Tera’ which also stars Hrishitaa Bhatt. Directed by Jojo D’Souza, ‘Ishq Tera’ is all set to release on April 27, 2018. Mohit Madaan recently had a candid chat with Sumit Rajguru of Free Press Journal and revealed many interesting things about ‘Ishq Tera’ and his personal life. Excerpts

How did you get selected for ‘Ishq Tera’?

The director saw my face at a post-production studio where some work was going on for a project I had acted in. He arranged for a meeting and narrated the script. I said yes.

Why do you choose to work again in a thriller film just after ‘Aksar 2’?

‘Ishq Tera’ is a romantic film with some thrill elements that come in the film because of the split personality. It’s completely different to Aksar 2. The genre is different as well.

As you have done some intimate scenes with Hrishitaa Bhatt; tell us something about that?

As an actor, intimate scenes are part of the job. If you become friends with the actor and are comfortable with each other, then we know we are just performing and there are no awkward moments. There has to be an understanding between the two.

How did you prepare for your character in ‘Ishq Tera’?

I have seen my friend go through split personality or schizophrenia. I had a fair idea of what happens to such people. But I have never had a shameless kind of love towards someone and I just had to believe that while performing in the film that I will love her even if she does wrong, obviously because she herself doesn’t know she’s doing those things because of the other personality taking over at times.

Was it tough to show your talent with already talented and experienced actress like Hrishitaa Bhatt?

No, as an actor you should never be intimidated by other actors. If anything, you should learn from them and perform confidently and do justice to your character.

Lastly, tell us why should people watch ‘Ishq Tera’?

Ishq Tera is a film based on real life incidents. Anybody and everybody will be able to relate to some aspect in the film as it focuses on the mental state of a person and of course the movie has a love story in it.
