Indore: After initial denial, lead and government colleges have agreed to become sub centres of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya for evaluation work. However, they accepted the responsibility after the university assured them to provide resources for smooth conduct of evaluation work.
The university had made changes in the examination and evaluation system a day ahead of annual examination that started from April 13. While it had made putting the computer centre (CC) code mandatory on answer books, the university made 13 lead and government colleges as its sub-centres for evaluation work.
The principals on Tuesday had described the move as unthoughtful and refused to guarantee safety of answer books sent to them. As a result, the university called meeting of principals on Wednesday wherein the principals stated that they cannot take up evaluation responsibility.
At the meeting, Dhakad said the university is not passing on its responsibility on colleges but taking their help in smooth evaluation of answer books. He said university would provide resources to sub-centres after which they agreed to take up evaluation work. “We promised them help after which the issue was resolved,” Dhakad said.
