Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter prepared for annual dinner

The Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter will host its annual benefit dinner, “Night of a Thousand Lights,” from 6 to 9:30 p.m., May 3, at the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland, 9801 Carnegie Ave. in Cleveland.

Nearly 400 people are expected to attend with a goal to raise $400,000 to support the chapter’s free care and support services, advocacy, education and research, according to a news release.

The featured speaker will be Alzheimer’s Association President and CEO Harry Johns. Under his leadership, the Alzheimer’s Association has created and driven the public discussion about Alzheimer’s in the United States, the release stated.

Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on more than 50 silent auction items, including a signed, framed Cleveland Browns legend Joe Thomas jersey, Indians tickets and the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, and a trip to New York.
