Prime Minister Narendra Modi,  who is to start his whirlwind  tour of the poll-bound Karnataka from  May 1, will interact with State BJP leaders, including the party's candidates for the May 12 Assembly polls, elected members and office-bearers, through his mobile application on  Thursday.

According to a BJP statement ,  he would also speak to party workers and provide them "guidance" as they campaign for the polls to the 224-member assembly.

Modi is expected to have back-to-back election rallies in Karnataka until May 10 in Karnataka a where his party  is locked in an evenly balanced  fight with the ruling Congress  while JDS is rendering the contest a triangular one. Party leaders in Karnataka hope that  Modi's  charisma could make a swing of one or two per cent in favour of the party, giving it a winning edge in the state.

Modi is expected to address anywhere between 15 and 20 rallies.
