Indore: The owner of an air conditioner repair shop was critically injured as the compressors of air conditioners exploded after fire broke out due to short circuit at his shop on Wednesday. The shop is situated between MIG police station and Patnipura square. The flames became intense and spread to adjacent footwear shop, which was gutted. Besides, the wall of a house collapsed due to explosion in compressors.

Sub inspector of fire brigade Santosh Dubey said that the incident took place at 9.55 am. Owner Anil Nayar was working at his shop when the fire broke out. Nayar tried to rush out from the shop when a compressor exploded. Panic prevailed in the area after the explosion in the shop as people informed fire brigade and police. Local residents said fire brigade officials reached half-an-hour late. By this time, flames became intense and spread to another shop and house.

According to Dubey, two fire tenders reached the spot within 10 minutes after receiving information of the fire incident.
