Powergrid awarded platinum prize at FICCI awards

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has been awarded the platinum prize in power sector category at the sixth FICCI quality systems excellence awards ceremony held on April 24. Ravi P Singh, director (personnel) received the award from DG, BIS, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

DEPwD Signs MoU with Rehabilitation International Korea

An MoU was signed between secretary DEPwD, Government of India and Rehabilitation International Korea hosting Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities (GITC), 2018 in India. The event will be held in New Delhi during November 8 to 11, 2018. As per MoU, both the parties have agreed to cooperate in making all arrangements for the successful events in providing all necessary financial, logistics, manpower and other facilities.

This event will have around 300 participants including 120 Youth with disabilities from 24 Asia Pacific countries. GITC is being held every year in Asia- Pacific region and such events were held in the past in countries like Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam et al. This competition is amongst four categories of disabilities namely, physical, visual, hearing and intellectual. The competition is a testing ground for individual as well as group competencies in the field of IT. Awards will be given to the most successful candidates from different categories of event. The event will also have a Seminar for IT Forum in which the countries will present their work and achievement in ensuring accessibility to persons with disabilities in the IT sector. It is expected to enrich the IT skills of Youth with Disabilities and help them emerge as future leaders.

Dr Ashutosh Karnatak receives Presidential annual award

NACE International 2018 Presidential Achievement award was presented on April 18 at Corrosion  conference in Phoenix, Arizona to Dr Ashutosh Karnatak, Director (Projects) GAIL (India) Ltd during the annual awards conference. Dr Karnatak was nominated for this prestigious award by NACE board of directors for his numerous contributions and initiatives.
