Brawl in the mall: Violent night in Mandurah leaves woman with fractured skull

A woman has been left with a fractured skull after a brick was thrown at her head during a violent brawl in Mandurah in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Mandurah detectives are investigating the incident which happened about 1:30am in the Smart Street Mall.

Police say the violence started when a group of men started fighting with a 27-year-old man.

Two of the men from the group picked up bricks and threw them at the victim, with one hitting him in the head causing him to fall over.

Another man in the group then attempted to punch him.

A short time later a woman in her 20’s ran to stop the fighting but she too was hit with a brick to her head.

Both victims required treatment in hospital for their injuries.

The woman received serious injuries, including a fractured skull, while the man received a head wound which required staples.

Police believe an incident inside a nearby nightclub may have sparked the fighting.

At the time there was a large group of people in the area who may have witnessed the assault.

Police have released CCTV images of four men who may be able to help with the investigation.

The first man is described as fair skinned, 20-25 years old, with a solid build, wearing black pants, a black jacket and dark coloured t-shirt underneath.

The second man is described as tanned, 20-25 years old, medium build, wearing a grey hoodie and blue pants.

The third man is also fair skinned, 20-25 years old, slim build, wearing a black t-shirt and green pants.

The fourth man is described as tanned, around 20 years old and is of a slim build. He was wearing a maroon coloured t-shirt and black pants.
