Colombo (News1st) – Doctors of the Eastern province have launched a token strike. According to the Ampara district coordinator of the Government Medical Officers Association Dr. Shanith Peduruarachchi, the strike is aimed at highlighting a number of issues including the lack of salary increments.

He noted that token strike was launched as authorities have failed to pay heed to their issues even though a number of discussions were held.
