Southwest Forecasts Weaker Bookings After Fatal Accident

Unit revenue for the current quarter is projected to fall 1% to 3%

Southwest Airlines Co. said Thursday that bookings had been hit by last week’s fatal accident on a flight from New York to Dallas.

The largest carrier of U.S. domestic passengers said a closely-watched revenue metric would fall by 1% to 3% in the second quarter, with most of the drop attributed to softness in bookings since the accident on April 17.
