To quote Dr Al-Mashat, “The Gulf is expected to play a significant role in bolstering tourism in Egypt as arrivals from the region will contribute positively to drive growth in Egypt’s popular tourism sector for years to come.We are also working hard with tour operators and travel agents from throughout the Middle East, as well as further afield around the world, to showcase that Egypt is a tourist destination like no other and that now is the time for travellers to visit the country as we build on a strong performance in 2017 and a steep increase in tourist numbers in the first quarter of 2018.”

Arab country tourism shows 30 percent of total visitors to the country. Furthermore, Egypt was the most rapid growing global tourism destination in 2017 as per the World Tourism Barometer and the entire country is determined to build on that success.

There are numerous tourism investment projects that will be declared later this year and are aimed at drawing international investors and appeal to high-yield tourists.
