Chandigarh(Narinder Jagga): The controversy does not seem ending of Punjab Cabinet expansion as the Congress President Rahul Gandhi has constitute a two members committee of Ashok Gehlot and Mallikarjun Kharge to look into the matter about the impact due to the ignorance of Dalit leaders and to submit the report as soon as possible. Talking to Daily Post over the phone, a senior leader of Congress, Gahlot has endorsed such action.A delegation of three senior sulking dalit MLAs from Punjab led by Technical Education minister Charanjit Singh Channi had met Rahul Gandhi to highlight alleged discrimination in Cabinet. Priyanaka Gandhi was also present in the meeting. Sources disclosed that the annoyed MLAs would be called to explain their pain before the two member’s committee in Dehi.Sources told that appointments of Corporation and Boards are likely to postponed till the submit of committee’s report.
Revolt like situation is going on since the expansion of Punjab Cabinet, but the appointment of Navjot Kaur Sidhu as Chairman of Punjab Warehousing Corporation has added the fuel in fire. While the CM Captain Amrinder Singh had assured to annoyed MLAs with good adjustment, soon. But his beginning has started the atmosphere of public talk. Moreover the opposition parties have started to oppose such step taken by CM. On the day of expansion, six MLAs from Punjab Congress had raised their protest in Public against the ‘Adjustment of Captain’in Cabinet and among them there were Sangat Singh Gilzia, Surjit Singh Dhiman, Gurtej Singh Cheema,Nathu Ram,Gurkeerat Singh Kotli included, while number of MLAs from Congress were protesting within the party.
Leader and MLAs from BC had also held meeting at the residence of Deputy Speaker Ajaib Singh Bhatti’s residence on April 21. The delegation, which met with Rahul Gandhi, includes Minister Channi, Deputy Speaker Bhatti and Sangat Singh Gilzia MLA. Sources told that they alleged discrimination in denying them representation in the cabinet. Sources told that Channi was hopeful to get powerful portfolio, while Bhatti had been assured with Cabinet berth as well as Gilzia also. It was also the allegation of delegation that while appointing heads of various corporation and boards, SC and BC can be discriminated.
