Students beware! UGC releases list of 24 fake universities across India

As results of various educational boards are being announced, students have started preparing to get enrolled in different universities. In their interest, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has come out with a list of fake universities — there are as many as 24 across the country.

“Students and public at large are hereby informed that at present following 24 self-styled, unrecognised institutions are functioning in contravention of the UGC Act in various parts of the country,” stated the UGC in a notice.

Uttar Pradesh and Delhi are top of the list followed by Bihar, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Odisha and Puducherry.
