Highlights

21:09(IST)

Mujeeb Ur Rahman is proving to be real difficult to deal with, no one being able to read him perfectly. Concedes just 2 from his 16th over and Sunrisers Hyderabad are 99/4 after 16 overs. We also break for a strategic timeout

21:03(IST)

WICKET! Mujeeb strikes now and Shakib's stay at the crease comes to an end, looks to go for a big heave over midwicket but holes out to long on where Mayank Agarwal completes a catch. SRH are 79/4.

21:00(IST)

Shakib gets a boundary off the second ball of the over there, Hyderabad pick up 9 runs from that Tye over. Shakib picking a slower one and depositing it towards fine leg for a four. SRH are 76/3 after 13 overs.

20:56(IST)

Boundaries still eluding the Sunrisers Hyderabad here, they are not able to get anything away yet. Again, just 5 runs from that Mujeeb over and SRH are 67/3 after 12 overs.

20:53(IST)

Andrew Tye now comes into the attack, mixing the slower balls with his quicker ones there. Sunrisers Hyderabad are 62/3 after 11 overs here, still the two batsmen aren't going for there shots so far.

20:49(IST)

Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman seems to have recovered from that hit and he starts the proceedings after the strategic time out, concedes just 3 runs and SRH are 57/3 halfway into the innings.

20:44(IST)

Ashwin concedes just 4 runs from that over, its also time for the strategic timeout here. SRH slowly starting to come back into the game here, they are 54/3 after 9 overs.

20:42(IST)

Manoj Tiwari has come into the attack, and he is bowling with a real slingy action here. SRH pick up 10 runs from that over and SRH are 50/3 after 8 overs

20:37(IST)

Ravi Ashwin comes into the attack now, he concedes just 3 runs from his first over. This is the perfect time for KXIP spinners to come into the game and build onto the early breakthroughs. SRH are 40/3 after 7 overs.

20:33(IST)

So, that's the end of the powerplay overs then. Sran's last over ultimately proving to be expensive here. He concedes 10 runs in that one and SRH are 37/3 after 6 overs.

Aakash Chopra, Cricket Pundit 20:31(IST)

Superb bowling by Ankit. Bounce and lateral movement. Loved how #KXIP  bowled to Kane Williamson. Had a slip and gully in place...cut off his lifeblood of singles through third-man. #SRHvKXIP #IPL

20:30(IST)

WICKET or maybe not! Sran gets Shakib to top edge that one and its taken at fine leg, but he has overstepped the mark here. Shakib lucky to survuve, can he make the most of it?

20:24(IST)

WICKET! Another one departs, really ordinary batting this from Hyderabad. Saha now looks to heave one ovre onside but gets a  top edge. Andrew Tye completes a simple catch. He departs for 6

20:21(IST)

DROPPED! Manish Pandey mistimes one, he gets a top edge but Ashwin is a bit slow in moving, ultimately he can't reach the ball and SRH are 23/2 after 3 overs.

20:19(IST)

FOUR! SRH desperately need Manish Pandey to fire here, and he gets a fine boundary. Flicks his wrists and times one superbly, off the mark in some style here. SRH are 21/2

20:12(IST)

WICKET! Ankit Rajpoot strikes again, this time Shikhar Dhawan departs. Right after conceding a boundary, Rajpoot again gets one to bounce and move away. It takes an edge of Dhawan's bat and Karun Nair takes a super catch at first slip. SRH are 16/1, Dhawan departs for 11

20:09(IST)

FOUR! Crashed through the covers, Dhawan gets the first boundary of the day. Great shot there, Sran giving him room and Dhawan square cuts it away for a boundary. Saha then also gets one to the boundary ropes. SRH 12/1 after two overs.

20:05(IST)

WICKET! Rajpoot strikes early here, the ball is pitched in short and extra bounce does the trick for Kings XI. Williamson looking to pull but he is in a bad position, gets it high on the bat and Ashwin completes a simple catch. SRH are 1/1

20:02(IST)

Action on the first ball here! Rajppot goes short and wide, Dhawan looks to lash one but gets a top edge. Almost carries to Mujeeb who seems to have misjudged it, to make matters worse he is hit on the face! SRH are 1/0 after 0.1 overs.

20:00(IST)

We are all set then, Ankit Rajpoot - who was the man of the match in the last game will start proceedings for Kings XI Punjab..Dhawan and Williamson will open for SRH

19:56(IST)

We are just minutes away from live action now..Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson are all set to open innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad..

19:40(IST)

So, Yuvraj Singh also faces the axe now and it was about time. He has looked completely out of sorts so far in the league, struggling to score as freely as he would like. Big chance for Manoj Tiwari though, can he seal spot in the line-up?

19:35(IST)

At the TOSS, R Ashwin: We are bowling first. The wicket seems to be pretty good. We have been winning games, these are quality players we are talking about. They are very important and will come good at the back-end of the tournament. Two changes for us. Gayle is back and Yuvraj misses out, Manoj Tiwary gets a game.

Kane Williamson: Looks like a good batting surface, we will have to put up a good score on the board. The surfaces have been different this season, a lot more challenging. Chris is a very dangerous player, very good to watch if you are not the opposition. No changes for the playing XI.

19:34(IST)

Teams: Sunrisers Hyderabad (Playing XI): Shikhar Dhawan, Kane Williamson(c), Wriddhiman Saha(w), Manish Pandey, Shakib Al Hasan, Yusuf Pathan, Mohammad Nabi, Rashid Khan, Basil Thampi, Siddarth Kaul, Sandeep Sharma

19:32(IST)

TOSS NEWS: R Ashwin wins the toss and decides to bowl first. Yuvraj is missing out and Manoj Tiwary comes in for him. Ashwin says that big players need to be given a go for a longish period. Williamson wishes to contain Gayle and not let him run havoc. Same team for SRH.

19:24(IST)

Bhuvneshwar is one of five players in the highest category of central contracts handed out by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and was one of two players retained by his Indian Premier League franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the ongoing season. "Everything comes from that physical maturity, it improved the pace a bit. The IPL has helped improve me as a bowler, especially in the death overs,” he said. “It’s a short format, but a long season and two months is never easy to play. If we’ve to survive those two months, if you’ve to win the tournament, you’ve to do well – as a strike bowler, I really had to do well to ensure matches are won. Those responsibilities, that need to do well regularly in a long season, those are the things that improved me as a bowler, and the team as well.”

19:15(IST)

Bhuvneshwar Kumar started out as a swing bowler, whose pace was in the 125-130kph region. Sure, he could move the ball around a lot, but without enough pace, the threat was diminished somewhat. That meant limited appearances for India, especially with a host of bowlers who touched 140kph in the mix. Kumar, now 28, did what he could, he added pace. But, initially, it seemed like he had lost his swing in the process. Now, though, he is a different beast, regularly touching 135-140kph and, as anyone who saw him in action in the Newlands Test against South Africa earlier this year knows, moving the ball around big time. “I’ve always been able to swing it both ways,” Kumar said. “But I always wanted to add that pace, and I didn’t know how to. I worked with the trainers and the physios and what I’ve learnt is that it comes naturally with age and maturity. The pace I have now (is because) I am at the peak of my physical attributes right now. Everything comes from that physical maturity, it improved the pace a bit.”

19:05(IST)

An off-spinner who can bowl leg-breaks is like a multi-lingual, said Sachin Tendulkar, reflecting on the growing demand for wrist spinners in limited-overs cricket given the difficult questions they are posing to batsmen all around. While Tendulkar did not take any names, his observation on off-spinners trying to bowl leg-break would certainly be music to Ravichandran Ashwin's ears, as he is trying his hand at wrist spin with an eye on national comeback in the shorter versions. "I feel it can only help. It's like you know two to three different languages. Now there is no harm in knowing five or six different languages. It can't take away anything from you," Tendulkar said.

18:55(IST)

Sunrisers Hyderabad have suffered a huge blow as star pacer Billy Stanlake has been ruled out of remainder of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), it was confirmed on Tuesday. Stanlake suffered a broken finger during the match against Chennai Super Kings and he won't take part in Hyderabad's campaign any further, it was revealed ahead of SRH's sixth match of the season again Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. The franchise also confirmed that Stanlake has already flown back to his country for further treatment after being advised by the doctors. Stanlake was in sublime form before picking up the injury and he was one of the leading wicket-takers for Hyderabad. In the five matches that he played, the Aussie pacer scalped seven wickets, with an economy rate of just over eight.

18:45(IST)

There is a reason why the Sunrisers Hyderabad are considered the best bowling outfit in the Indian Premier League and that was on display at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday as Kane Williamson's team choked Mumbai Indians to register a 31-run victory, after setting a below-par target of 119 runs for the hosts. Mumbai Indians, who have now lost five out of their six matches, made heavy weather of a smallish target as they folded up for just 87 on a Wankhede track where the ball was coming slowly off the wicket. Sunrisers skipper Kane Williamson ensured that his team didn’t drop their shoulders even once, despite managing to put only 118 on the board, after Mayank Markande, Mitchell McClenaghan and Hardik Pandya picked two wickets apiece to derail the SRH batting. Yusuf Pathan (29) and skipper Williamson (29) were the highest scorers as the 'Orange Army' failed to even play out the full quota of 20 overs.

PREVIEW SRH vs KXIP: A charged up Sunrisers Hyderabad will have revenge on their minds when they face an in-form Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League on Thursday. The live telecast of the IPL 2018 match 25 between SRH and KXIP will start at 8 PM on April 26th (Thursday). The match can be seen live on the Star Sports network and live streaming will be available on hotstar.com. You can also follow MI and SRH live blog for ball-by-ball updates, full score and IPL match highlight on cricketnext.com. Sunrisers defended a modest 118 against Mumbai Indians last night to bring their campaign back on track after suffering back-to-back defeats. Despite missing the services of injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sunrisers showed their bowling prowess. Pacer Siddarth Kaul and leg-spinner Rashid Khan helped the home team dismiss the two-time champions for 87 on a slow wicket at the Wankhede Stadium to record a 31-run victory.

Sunrisers have looked a balanced side with skipper Kane Williamson leading from the front with 259 runs and Kaul standing out with nine wickets in the tournament so far. It was KXIP who had handed out a 15-run loss to the Sunrisers earlier at Mohali. They were, in fact, blown away by Chris Gayle, who had cracked a 63-ball 104. The West Indian T20 exponent has looked in ominous form this season with a hundred and two fifties.

However, Gayle had missed the last match against Delhi Daredevils as he was a bit sore and Punjab would hope the opener makes it to the playing XI. His opening partner K L Rahul too has looked in good touch scoring 236 runs including two half-centuries. Sunrisers will be again banking on the dangerous duo to give them another flying start while Hyderabad will be focused on dismissing them cheaply.

In Bhuvneshwar's absence, Siddarth and Basil Thampi will have to take the responsibility early on and the the spin trio of Rashid, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Nabi will hold the key in the middle overs. Among the batsmen, Sunrisers would hope Shikhar Dhawan, who had suffered a hit in the elbow during the match against KXIP and missed a match, finds his touch after getting out cheaply in the last game.

After the batsmen scored a lowly 118, skipper Williamson said he expected more from them. "Without a doubt, we were expecting a lot more from our batsmen. Perhaps we could have gotten to 140 mark. A fantastic second half for us, but we are still to put a collective performance together," he said despite the team winning by 31 runs.
