Concert of Classical Religious Music

The 11th edition of the Concert of Classical Religious Music was presented by the Santa Cecilia Choir and Orchestra at the Se Cathedral, Old Goa recently. The Church was packed with music aficionados who were enthralled by the beautiful performance presented by 76 singers led by the choir master Blaise Lobo. 58 musicians of the orchestra led by Maria Sancha Pereira, 14 soloists including Kimberly Fernandes, Avina Furtado, Sharmila Gracias accompanied by Roy Menezes on clarinet and Yatin Talaulikar on the tabla, Maria Gisela Pereira accompanied by the 12-year-old Anthea Dias on the violin, Efigenia Miranda, Janis Fernandes, Elvis Godinho, Lanishka Vaz, Alfred Menezes, Clive Diniz, Edwin D’Sa, and Fr Jean da Cruz Fernandes. Fr Simon Mathew D’Cunha conducted the choir. The Archbishop of Goa, Felipe Neri Ferrao, graced the concert. Braz Gonsalves, Fernando Fernandes, Aleixo Fernandes and Maurelio Cotta were the four musicians who were invited as guests of honour.
