RAJKOT: Heavy security was deployed in Bhimasar village of Anjar taluka in Kutch after some miscreants put a garland of shoes on the Ambedkar statue here on Wednesday night.
Agitated over the insult to 'Baba Saheb', villagers demanded a swift and strict action against the accused.

Dinesh Tungaria, Sarpanch of Bhimasar village said, “We demand police to immediately arrest the miscreants and take strict action. We are hurt with the insult of Baba saheb, villagers have gathered here since morning.”

According to sources, people from nearby villages are also coming to Bhimasar to protest against the incident.

The senior police officers are directly monitoring the situation to avert any untoward incident.

Bhimasar is a model village with CCTV cameras at several places. However, police say because of darkness the cameras failed to capture the faces of the miscreants.
