Music festivals coming up for Ocean City, Dewey and Rehoboth

As the clock counts down toward summer, businesses throughout Delmarva are making the most of the shoulder season by hosting their annual spring festivals.

In Ocean City, Seacrets will present its Twelve-Pack of Local Music & Brew Fest at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, which includes drink samples from various Maryland and Delaware breweries. (Food must be purchased separately.)

Performers this year will include Eastern Electric, The Rogue Citizens, Triple Rail Turn, Audio Riot, Radio Neon, Off the Edge, South Paw and more. The three-hour event will rap up at 4 p.m., after which regular patrons can enjoy the sounds of the Whiskeyhickon Boys (5 p.m.), the JJ Rupp Band (9 p.m.) and The Zoo (10 p.m.).

In Dewey Beach, the Rusty Rudder will rock from 1 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, April 28, with one of its annual blowouts. Admiral Dewey Day will kick off with the Fabulous Greaseband, followed by The Funsters and Love Seed Mama Jump. Admission is free. Looking ahead a week, the Rudder will present its free Country & Americana Festival at 9 p.m., Saturday, May 5, including a headlining performance by Radio Romance.

In downtown Rehoboth Beach, The Pond nightclub will present the sixth annual Hope Is Best charity event at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 29.

Admission is free, with sales from beverages and raffle tickets benefiting the National Alliance on Mental Illness and its crisis telephone lines. Local indie-rock act Braxton Hicks will reunite for the first time in years and spotlight newly written originals. Other performers include Green Means Go, Sons of Fred, Alex Razze and Hallelujah Jones & the Sundae Saints. Lower Case Blues will play its regular Sunday evening show at 9 p.m.

Back in Ocean City, the 2018 edition of Springfest begins Thursday, May 3. A host of local musicians will play throughout the day with free admission, followed by tribute act Satisfaction: The International Rolling Stones Show on the big stage at 7 p.m. ($10, $20). Shows featuring country favorite Trace Adkins on May 4 and Poison frontman Bret Michaels on May 5 are both sold out.

OC’s Cowboy Coast Saloon is open for business, at least in the bar area. Its restaurant is being renovated. Tickets are on sale now for upcoming country shows there including William Michael Morgan on Friday, May 18, and Jordan Davis on Saturday, May 26 (both cost $10).
