WILMINGTON – Arnaldo Hernandez, Vance Tatum and Justin Camp combined for a shutout as the Wilmington Blue Rocks beat the Potomac Nationals 5-0 on Thursday.

Hernandez (2-0) picked up the win after he struck out three and walked two while allowing four hits over five scoreless innings. Matt Crownover (1-2) went five innings, allowing three runs and six hits in the Carolina League game. He also struck out four and walked one.

Wilmington scored three runs in the fourth, including a two-run home run by Brandon Downes. The Blue Rocks scored again in the seventh inning, when Angelo Castellano scored on a forceout and Emmanuel Rivera hit an RBI single.

Rivera singled three times, scoring a run and also driving one home in the win.

Carter Kieboom reached base four times for the Nationals. Potomac was held off the scoreboard for the first time this season, while the Wilmington staff recorded its second shutout of the year.
