Railway Board praises RRD

Out of 25 initiatives  shortlisted out of 2500 entries received by the Railway Board related to commendable initiatives taken in Railways across the Country, two initiatives of Ranchi Rail Division (RRD) has been selected for it. The two initiatives selected for the honour are - establishment of Baybridge in Ranchi Rail Division and skill development training provided to the youths for front line staff.

SBPS students shine in ‘SHABD’

In the Inter-school knowledge convergence meet -SHABD 2018 – conducted at DPS Bokaro on April 09-10, 2018, the students of Sarala Birla Public School, Ranchi came out with flying colours. There were various competitions viz-creative writing, G.K. Quiz, Visual Art Installation, Short Play enactment, debate and extempore. SBPS students performed well and secured the 1st runner up position in ‘The Wisdom of Bhasha’: Inter School Experimental Short Play Enactment. Four students of SBPS i.e. Sonal Singh, Adarsh Pandey and Anushka Mukherjee of Grade 10, and Pritisha Dey of Grade 12 represented a remarkable play on the topic ‘Respect for Women’.

Cong forms tribal cell

AICC president Rahul Gandhi has constituted All India Tribal Congress and placed leaders like Dr Rameshwar Oraon, Sukhdeo Bhagat, Arun Oraon, Pradeep Balmuchu, Geeta Shree Oraon, Sushil Marandi into it. Sushil Marandi has been made coordinator of the State into the cell.

Essar sells EBP for 2400 cr

Through a statement issued on Wednesday, Essar announced that it has completed the sale of Equinox Business Parks (EBP) which is its commercial property in Mumbai’s Bandra-Kurla Complex to Brookfield Asset Management, for an enterprise value of Rs 2,400 cr. The business park includes facilities like Commerce Centre, club house, food court, cafeteria, banquet hall and parking. Some of the companies that occupy space in the Park are Tata Communications, Experian, Crompton Greaves and Lafarge.

SAIL CSR

SAIL, under their CSR initiative, distributed stationeries to the students of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, on Wednesday. The distribution of study materials was done by the Deputy General Manager – Administration, Manas Rath. On this occasion, Manas Rath appreciated the school management, and blessed the students for a fruitful future ahead. 

Basketball tournament at DPS

A two day Intramural basketball tournament (Girls) played by the students of Classes VI-VIII at DPS Ranchi concluded on Wednesday. The final match of the tournament was played between Ravi House vs Jamuna House. During the match both the houses gave each other a cut throat competition and Ravi House defeated Jamuna House by 26-24 and registered its victory. The highest scorer of the match was Anisha with 20 score. The Principal of the school Dr. Ram Singh congratulated the winning team.

Summer Camp by JCI

Junior Chamber International’s Women's Branch is going to organize a summer camp for the children. This camp will be held from May 13 -15. This camp will be organized at Rock Garden, Kanke Road. This summer camp will be called "Fun on the Rock". The camp time is kept from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The age limit for children is kept for 5 to 12 years. The summer camp includes attractions such as science projects, fashion shows, space riding, beach party and pottery making for kids.

Conference by CWS

Centre of World Solidarity (CWS), along with Society for Promotion of Wastelands Development (SPWD) and Welthungerhilfe, commenced a two day conference on Wednesday at HRDC, Ranchi, on the issues of increasing use of pesticides in crops and the related health hazards. The Chief Guest for the session was Minister of Food and Supply Dept, Saryu Rai who spoke on the increasing adulteration in daily food and the inclusion of pesticides in the food chain.

Book Launch

Sandeep Verma, a young BJP leader has worked as an assistant to Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani for a long time. He has labeled the newly published book of Parliamentarian Parimal Nathwani, Gir Lion - Pride of Gujarat as a rare collection. He has said that this book of Nathwani touches all the aspects related to the lives of the lions which the common man should know. The book provides deep insights on all the topics related to the wildlife of Gir and makes it a pleasant read.

State level competition by JSDMS

Two days State level competition by Jharkhand Skill development Society Mission (JSDMS) to select the best suitable candidates for world skill development competition- 2019 kicked off on Wednesday. The competition was held for eight trades. As many as 14 trades have been selected by JSDMS for Jharkhand. Eight contestants participated in the programme after winning the district level competition.
