Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov claim
Khabib Nurmagomedov's coach Javier Mendez has claimed a bout between the new UFC lightweight champion and Conor McGregor is the biggest fight in mixed martial arts.
“It’s just a matter of whether Conor wants to come to the table or not,” Mendez told Express Sport when discussing a potential fight between Nurmagomedov and McGregor.
“And knowing Conor, he’s a great businessman, Conor is going to want the biggest payday for his efforts. And there isn’t going to be a bigger MMA fight than Khabib and Conor.
“The next big one that’s going to happen before that, in my opinion, I believe the logical step for Conor would be to fight Nate Diaz. Now or later.
“But that fight needs to also happen too. Because that’s also a big fight for Conor.
“The two big fights for Conor, in my opinion, are Khabib and Nate Diaz.”
It's also possible Floyd could win
Joe Rogan makes Floyd Mayweather Jr MMA claim
"It's also possible Floyd could win,” Rogan said of a potential fight between Mayweather and Punk during a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. That’s what makes that interesting.
“Because Floyd is still one of the best boxers of all time, if not the best. (He’s) still an elite athlete. Still light speed in there.
“With his footwork, his movement and his head movement. He's so fast. He’s going to to be way, way faster than CM Punk.
“So if CM Punk can’t get a hold of him and every time he moves in he gets his face lit up. Pap-pap, pap-pap.
“With a dude who is fast as f**k with 6oz gloves, now he’s got 4oz gloves with very little padding. And he’s catching you right on the chin, blap, and you can’t do s**t about it.
“You’re trying to close the distance and he’s stutter stepping and he’s moving right in front of you. And CM Punk is not like the best kicker in the world… I’d buy it!”
Daniel Cormier discusses potential Jon Jones trilogy fight
GETTY
UFC light-heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has claimed he won’t come out of retirement to fight Jon Jones if he isn’t cleared to fight by the time his 40th birthday rolls around.
"If I'm not gonna do it for guys that I really like, I won't do it for somebody that I don't like," Cormier told TMZ Sports.
"So, if he doesn't come back before that date, our time will have passed."
