CBSE had to reschedule the exam after the original paper was leaked in March

CBSE class 12 students from the commerce stream took up the re-examination for the economics paper on Wednesday in centres across the city.

The relief was evident among students who left exam centres at 1.30 p.m. and a majority of the students said that the paper had been an easy one.

A. Sanjana, a student of Vidya Mandir, said that the paper had direct questions and most of them had started preparing around three days back.

On March 26, the students had given the economics board exam and a few days later, CBSE announced that the and dates would be announced soon due to reports of the question paper having been leaked before the exam.

R. Akshaye, a student of St John's Besant Nagar, said that he had already begun to attend day-long coaching classes for the law entrance exams and that the re-scheduling of the board exam had made it tough for a few of them.

"The paper, however, was easy, compared to the previous economics paper we took," he said.

Many students felt that scheduling the re-examination a month later was an unnecessary delay. "Many of us were in the mood to celebrate our holidays and relax before admissions began and this meant that we couldn't," said S. Supraja, a student.

Following the exam, many of them were seen celebrating. For most of the commerce students, common entrance exams as well as college entrance exams begin early in May.
