LIVE INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2018 MATCH 24, ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE vs CHENNAI SUPER KINGS: Hello and welcome to our live ipl cricket coverage of the match no. 24 of Indian Premier League 2018 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. The home side are in the bottom half of the table whereas the visitors are at the second spot. The hosts are eager for a win under the leadership of inspirational captain Virat Kohli. They do have momentum on their side and Virat will hope for it to continue. The visitors on the other hand, are coming off the back of two consecutive victories. They would look to make it three here today. Also a win for them will take them to the top of the table. This one promises to be an intriguing clash as both have star-studded lineups. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai side, who staged a comeback in the cash-rich league after two years, have yet again shown why they are considered the IPL's most successful team. The yellow brigade have won four of their five games and most of their batsmen have fired on more than one occasion, guiding CSK home. (LIVE CRICKET STREAMING - RCB vs CSK)

On the other hand, RCB, led by Virat Kohli are placed six in the points-table with just a couple of wins from five games. Despite having stars like AB De Villiers, Mandeep Singh, Quinton de Kock and Brendon McCullum, Bangalore's batting has been inconsistent, except for Kohli. The RCB skipper has accumulated 231 runs from five games, averaging 57.75. If De Villiers, who blasted an unbeaten 90 off 39 balls in RCB's last game against Delhi Daredevils, repeats the show, life would be difficult for Chennai. (LIVE SCORECARD) (IPL Full Coverage)

20.27 IST: SIX! Last over of the Powerplay and de Villiers making full use of it. He backs away and Singh bowls it a little too full on off. This time he goes against the turn and over covers for a maximum.  RCB 48/1 in 5.4 overs

AB de Villiers walks out to the middle.

20.21 IST: OUT! The change of ends for Shardul Thakur has worked wonders. A HUGE wicket and Kohli walks back dejected. Chennai needed this. Kohli walks down the track and Thakur bowls this on a length. Kohli tries to go over mid-on but does not get the elevation. He hits it flat towards him. Jadeja there dives to his left and takes a very good catch. Thakur is pumped up and so are the Chennai players.  Royal Challengers Bangalore 35/1 in 4.2 overs vs Chennai Super Kings

Change of ends for Shardul Thakur.

Harbhajan Singh is into the attack.

20.15 IST: FOUR! Outstanding effort by Billings but all in vain! This is also timed exquisitely by Kohli. Fuller and on the pads, Kohli flicks it through mid-wicket. Billings there makes good ground to his left and then dives to push the ball back in. It is rolling back towards the ropes as he gets up and once again tries to pull it back. The umpires are not sure whether he has done it cleanly and they go upstairs. Replays show the ball just touches the ropes and the boundary is signalled.  RCB 28/0 in 3 overs

20.12 IST: SIX! That is out of here! Right in the zone of de Kock. Full and on middle, the batter moves his right leg out of the way and sends it sailing over the long on fence for a biggie. First for the game.  RCB 22/0 in 2.3 overs

Brief Preview: Under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will aim for the top spot at the IPL Points Table when they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 24th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on Wednesday. With CSK not playing in the previous two seasons, fans on either side were robbed of IPL's most celebrated rivalry.

Though Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led CSK lead RCB 13-7 in the overall head-to-head record, both teams have won three games each out of the seven played at the high-scoring Chinnaswamy Stadium with one producing a no-result. Dhoni's men have been much better than RCB in their comeback season, winning four out of the five games they have played so far. The Virat Kohli-captained RCB have won two out of their five matches and would be eager to maintain momentum after the win against Delhi Daredevils at home last week. (Read Full Match Preview)
