Fire accident averted

A major accident was averted after Fire and Rescue Services Department personnel doused fire from a suspected gas leak from a cooking gas cylinder at an apartment on SRM Road near Kaloor on Tuesday.

Officials at the Gandhinagar Fire station said that they used a mini water mist tender to douse the fire, which had spread to the regulator of the cylinder. The apartment was located on the second floor. The compact size mini water mist tender enables a smooth travel through narrow roads during an emergency. No one was injured in the incident.
