Champions League top scorers: Liverpool trio Salah, Firmino and Mane close on Ronaldo

CRISTIANO RONALDO is still top of the Champions League scorers' chart, but Liverpool's free-flowing attack is hunting down the Real Madrid talisman.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer in the Champions League this season and has a chance to extend his lead when Real Madrid take on Bayern Munich tonight.

The Portuguese superstar has 15 goals already in the competition, but his lead is being eroded by an in-form Liverpool attack.

Both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino scored two goals during the 5-2 win over Roma last night, closing the gap at the top of the standings.

Sadio Mane was also on the scoresheet and boasts an impressive tally this campaign, while there is a potential for plenty more goals in the return leg.

With this in mind, Ronaldo needs to find his shooting boots once more against a resolute Bayern outfit if he wants to be sure of the top scorers’ accolade.
