FueLNG names Jurong Port as preferred LNG bunkering site

FUELNG, a joint venture between Keppel Offshore & Marine and Shell Eastern Petroleum, has selected Jurong Port as the preferred site for supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) as marine fuel.

Jurong Port said on Wednesday evening that it has signed a long-term terminal service agreement with FueLNG. The deal calls on Jurong Port to provide port infrastructure and services to FueLNG in support of the berthing of LNG-fuelled vessels for truck-to-ship LNG bunkering.

In truck-to-ship LNG bunkering operations, LNG is supplied as marine fuel from tank trucks to ships berthed at the port.

The signing of the service agreement took place as part of the naming ceremony for the LNG-fuelled tug KST Liberty at Keppel Singmarine on Wednesday. KST Liberty is South-east Asia and Singapore's first LNG-fuelled tug.

The vessel will call regularly on Jurong Port for LNG bunkering after entering operations.
