ACB traps Pedana Sub-Registrar

Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday caught red-handed Pedana Sub-Registrar B. Jagan while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹53,000 from a person.

According to the complainant, M. Narasimha Rao of Jangeru village, Krishna district, he approached the registrar office and urged to register his ancestral property and correct the survey number, which was wrongly given in the old registration papers.

The Sub-Registrar reportedly demanded the amount and while accepting money through a person, J. Venkata Krishna, they were arrested. During search, the police also seized ₹1.20 lakh unaccounted cash from the office.

ACB is conducting searches in the house of the accused officer, located at Srinivas Nagar, in Machilipatnam.

The arrested would be produced in Special Court for ACB Cases, Vijayawada.
