Is it not shameful for Siddaramaiah to search for a safe constituency? asks Yeddyurappa

The State has never seen such an anti-people government before and now people have decided to teach the Congress government and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah a lesson in the coming election and elect the BJP for pro-people governance, BJP Chief Ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa has said.

“I will become Chief Minister in 18 days and people, please bear till then for a people-friendly and farmer-friendly government,” he added.

He was addressing a large gathering at Mudnal Layout after party candidate Venkatareddy Mudnal filed his nomination papers from Yadgir constituency on Tuesday.

Mr. Yeddyurappa particularly criticised Mr. Siddaramaiah for coming to Badami after realising that he will lose in Chamundeshwari constituency and asked: “Is it not shameful for a Chief Minister, who claims that he has given pro-people governance, to search for a safe constituency?”

“Congressmen’s poverty has been eradicated but people are still living in poverty after 50 years of Congress rule. Therefore, you have to take a stern decision to send the most corrupt and an anti-people Congress government back home,” he said.

Remembering his Chief Ministership, he said that he has a special concern for Yadgir district which he formed when he was Chief Minister. He added that ₹ 100 crore will be released in the first phase for the district’s development, after he becomes Chief Minister.

Earlier, Mr. Mudnal, who addressed his followers, said that development works in the constituency had taken the back seat in the five-year tenure of Congress MLA A.B. Maalakaraddi.

The former Minister and Afzalpur candidate Mallikayya Guttedar, the former MLA Veerabasantreddy Mudnal, party’s Yadgir district unit president Chandrashekhargowda Magnur and others were present.
