Nursing profession is pious: Governor

Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki said that nursing profession is a very pious profession and nurses play a very important role in providing  healthcare services  to the people. The Governor was speaking on the inauguration of International Conference on "The Future of Nursing in World’s Perspective” organised at Ratan Institute Group in Mohali. He said that nurses works day and night in OPD, General Ward and operation theatre to provide succour to suffering humanity.  It is a skilled and trained job. The knowledge required in this profession has to be updated with latest knowledge of medical field, he added.

Haryana issue directions to IAS, HCS

Chandigarh: Haryana Government has issued instructions for writing of Performance Appraisal Reports of IAS and HCS officers posted as Secretary or Deputy Secretary of Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC).  While Chairman, HPSC will be reporting authority for writing of Performance Appraisal Reports of IAS and HCS officers posted as Secretary or Deputy Secretary in HPSC, Chief Secretary will be reviewing and accepting authority for the similar purpose.

PNB’s Mission Gandhigiri boosts recovery

Chandigarh: Punjab National Bank is strengthening its recovery efforts with innovative recovery mechanisms and technology partnerships to accelerate Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) recovery. In a perhaps unprecedented event, the PNB recovery team that forms a part of Mission Gandhigiri, sat outside a NPA account’s office in Mohali for a whole day. A majority of the due amount of Rs 27 crores is now recovered. Similarly, in the case of a major defaulting hotel chain with NPA amount of nearly Rs 100 crores, Mission Gandhigiri bore fruit. As a result of the PNB recovery team efforts, the said party that operates two popular hotel properties in the State offered OTS and deposited Rs 5 crores as upfront account which was appropriated in the account.

Patwaris, registry clerks given computer training

Chandigarh: Taking a prompt action to provide relief to people from stalled work due to strike of computer operators, Hisar District Administration has imparted computer training to patwaris and registry clerks in four days, and resumed the registry work in four tehsils, said Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Kumar Meena. He said that the computer operators deputed in all tehsils and e-Disha kendras were on strike since April 16 which affected the work in these offices.  In order to provide relief to people, the patwaris and registry clerks have been provided training through NIC and work would resume from Wednesday in four tehsils namely Hisar, Hansi, Narnaund and Adampur. He said that work of registries would soon be resumed in other tehsils of the district.

Haryana to construct new roads

Chandigarh:  Haryana Government will construct two new roads at a cost of over Rs 6.44 crore in Rewari and Nuh districts. While one road will be constructed from Russiawas to Manaka upto Rajasthan Border in Rewari, the construction work of other road will be undertaken from Rajaka to Uleta in Nuh. Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh said that road from Russiawas to Manaka upto Rajasthan Border in Rewari, having a length of 3.77 km, would be constructed at a cost of about Rs 3.62 crore. The construction work of 2.4 km road from Rajaka to Uleta in Nuh would cost about Rs 2.83 crore.

Allahabad Bank celebrates 154th Foundation Day

Chandigarh: Allahabad Bank celebrated its 154th foundation Day here on Tuesday.  Customer meets were organized at all the branches under Chandigarh Zonal Office to mark the occasion. Various social & cultural activities, free health check-ups were also organized by different branches in Haryana, Himachal and Chandigarh. Rajesh Mundra, AGM, Zonal office Chandigarh, said the Bank is not 153 years old but it is 153 years young and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the customers, stakeholders and well wishers for their continued support & patronage.

Open air gym installed

Chandigarh: Chandigarh MP Kirron Kher on Tuesday dedicated an open air gym to the children of Snehalaya & Ashiana. The open gym includes ten major different types of equipments for the physical growth of children. The  MP has provided equipments worth Rs 2.87 lakh each in both CCIs i.e. Snehalaya and Ashiana.  She said, “It is the happiest moment of my life that MP LADS funds have been used for the deprived section of Society particularly the children.”
