A 25-year-old man was arrested at 2:30 a.m. April 17 for discharging a weapon in a habitation, a misdemeanor, at a residence in the 4400 block of Darley Court, according to the Hilliard of Police.
The man reportedly was intoxicated, said Sgt. Suzanne Muraco.
He purposely fired a 9mm handgun out the back door of the residence, though it appeared he was not shooting at anything in particular, she said.
Additional charges are possible.
In other recent Hilliard police incident reports:
* A burglary was reported between 9:45 a.m. April 12 and 4 p.m. April 16 at a residence in the 4200 block of Avery Road.
A basement window was broken to gain entry, Muraco said.
Tools were reported stolen and an attempt was made to steal a car in the garage, she said.
* A Hilliard City Schools-issued iPad worth $400 was reported stolen April 17.
The theft occurred April 2 at Hilliard Davidson High School, 5100 Davidson Road.
* A commercially owned 2005 truck worth $12,000 was reported stolen between 8 p.m. April 16 and 6 a.m. April 17 from the 4900 block of Scioto Darby Road.
The keys were not left in the vehicle, the report said.
* Tools, a knife, pens and money were reported stolen at 2:35 a.m. April 12 from a vehicle in the 3900 block of Lyman Drive. Property loss was reported at $352.
* A license plate was reported stolen at 1:20 p.m. April 13 from a vehicle in the 4100 block of Weaver Court South.
* A cellphone charger, a children's book and an ice-cube mold were reported stolen at 1:55 p.m. April 14 from the 6400 block of Shadewater Drive. Property loss was reported at $50.
* A smartphone worth $500 was reported stolen between 6 and 8 p.m. April 14 from the 4500 block of Cosgray Road.
