State experiences benefits of double engine: Kaushik

Uttarakhand is experiencing benefits of double engine as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of State in his pre- poll speech. The State has received projects worth thousands of Crores in last one year and it is well on its way of development, said Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik while inaugurating the newly constructed building of Public Works Department (PWD) at Yamuna Colony here on Tuesday.

He said that work on All Weather Road to connect the Char Dhams is in full swing similarly the ambitious Rs 45000 Crore Rishikesh Karanprayag rail link project has also started. The minister informed that Deoband- Rookee rail link which will immensely help the state has also got necessary approvals.

On the Government’s plan to increase connectivity Kaushik said that ring roads would be constructed in Dehradun, Haridwar, Rudrapur, and Kashipur to ease traffic. He said government is working on providing sewage connections in all areas and assured that in next five years all areas of Dehradun would be covered under this project.

The Minister appreciated the new building of the PWD and said that it will help in increasing the efficiency of the employees.

The Dehradun Cantonment MLA Harbans Kapoor said that PWD is backbone of developmental activities.

The Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash, Engineer in Chief of PWD H.K. Upreti and large number of officers and employees of PWD were present on the occasion.
