Indore: A show cause notice was issued to the contractor on Tuesday for slow renovation work at Rajwada, the historical palace of erstwhile princely rulers, after divisional commissioner Sanjay Dubey objected to slow pace of work. Through the notice, the contractor Ms Noaste Enterprise, Ranchi, was asked as to why its contract should not be terminated. Dubey also directed to float fresh tenders for completion of the renovation work at “risk and cost” basis.
As per information, city planners had noticed slow pace of restoration work at Rajwada as less number of labourers were pressed for the job. The contractor was directed to increase the number of labourers and speed up the renovation work. But contractor did not increase the workforce.
During his inspection, Dubey noticed slow progress in renovation work at Rajwada and issued directives for handing out show cause notice for termination of contract. Dubey was accompanied by municipal commissioner Manish Singh and Indore Development Authority (IDA) chief executive officer Gautam Singh who reviewed the work progress at Gopal Mandir and Banke Bihari Mandir.
Dubey found pace of work “too slow” at both the temples and expressed his anguish. He directed to issue show cause notice to M/s Rajputana Construction Company for slow work. Besides, Dubey also directed to issue show cause notice to consultant company M/s Arjun Hablani as company failed to provide design and drawing for renovation work of Gopal Mandir.
