Last November, Amrutha Sarathy, a 37-year-old woman from Bengaluru, claimed to be late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's biological daughter.
Today, the Madras High Court ordered the Apollo Hospital to submit details regarding Jayalalithaa's blood sample by tomorrow. The Apollo Hospital asked for more time but the court denied.
The Madras High Court also set aside petitions requesting Amrutha's petition to be quashed.
On November 27, 2017 in a writ petition filed before the Supreme Court, Amrutha sought a DNA test to establish she is Jayalalithaa's biological daughter. The Supreme Court had rejected the petition then and directed Amrutha to approach the Madras High Court.
