State and Smyrna police on Tuesday searched a Magnolia home in which they found a large quantity of drugs and a rifle, according to police. 

After Smyrna police arrested 19-year-old local Kwamai Johnson in connection with a stolen firearm, state police joined with drug units to search a residence in the 100 block of Woodville Drive in Magnolia, police said. 

Police said they found a Smith & Wesson rifle, three magazines, 29 grams of heroin spread out in more than 4,100 wax bags, 276 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possessing and planning to distribute the drugs.

Johnson was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $51,000 secured bond.
