UC Nerul book finals berth

SALIGAO: United Club of Nerul registered a 2-0 win over Adarsh Yuvak Sangh Saligao to book their place in the finals of Shanti Morada Soccer 2018, organised by Adarsh Yuvak Sangh, at Saligao grounds on Wednesday. Both the goals for the winners came in the second session of play. In the 50th minute of play, Nerul took the lead as Aniket scored off a corner from Henson, 1-0. Adarsh attacked but luck was not on their side as they failed to score time and again. In the 60th minute Nerul further increased their lead as Sanket dribbled past a host of rival defenders and set up the ball to Russel who scored, 2-0.

Murod Candolim enter finals

CANDOLIM: Murod Candolim registered a solitary-goal win over Dhovimatic Khobravaddo Calangute to enter the finals of the 2^nd Calangute Constituency Soccer 2018, at Dr Gustavo grounds, Candolim, on Wednesday. It was Khobravaddo who came close in opening the account in the 36th minute but Mitesh Divkar shot straight into the rival goalkeeper’s hands. In the 43^rd minute Stephen Dias of Murod received a square pass from Harish Bagkar who gently placed the ball into the goal, 1-0.

SA Cricketers, Samrat SC secure wins

PANAJI: SA Cricketers, Chimbel and Samrat Sports Club won their respective matches of the 2^nd All Goa Panchayat Level Leather Ball T20 Cricket Tournament, organised by Betim United, at SAG ground, Campal on Wednesday. While SA cricketers defeated Hanuman Sports Club by 15 runs, Samrat SC beat Porvorim SC by 9 wickets. In the first match, put in to bat first SA Cricketers posted 145 all out in 19.2 overs and in reply restricted Hanuman SC to 131 for 9 in 20 overs. The second match saw Samrat SC bowl out Porvorim SC for 148, and then chase down the total losing just one wicket.

GCA’s coaching camp for U-16 girls

PORVORIM: Goa Cricket Association (GCA) will on Friday, April 27 from 9 am conduct state level coaching camp for U-16 girls at various centres across the state. Players born on after September 1, 2002 are eligible to participate in the camp and should contact the coaches at following centres: Anuradha Redkar (9730507019) – Margao (Fatorda); Santoshi Rane (9923903595) – Sanquelim; Freeda Pereira (8975267133) – Porvorim.

Goa teams for SGFI U-19 Futsal Nationals

PANAJI: Futsal Association of Goa has announced Goa boys and girls teams that will participate in the School Games Federation of India (SGFI) U-19 National Futsal Championship, to be held in Belgaum, Karnataka from April 26-28. Boys Team: Wasim Shaikh, Akohat Hadkonkar, Stendley Fernandes, Aman, Rizbon Fernandes, Russell Vaz, Rixon Fernandes, Clayton Luis, Danston and Casius Luis. Coach: Savio Fernandes, Manager: Ramona D’Souza. Girls Team: Somaya Mukundan, Karishma Shirvoikar, Sushmita Jadhav, Rizella Almeida, Beverly Cardozo, Flavina Rodrigues, Ashika Gadekar, Mayflower Colaco, Namita Govekar and Khushboo Saundatikar.
