A 59-year-old Columbus man was arrested earlier this month in Worthington after allegedly attempting to cash a forged check.

The man tried to use a check for $4,510 at a bank on High Street the afternoon of April 9, according to a Worthington Division of Police report.

Tellers reported the man to police, who arrested him.

Sgt. James Moran said the man has been charged with a fifth-degree felony count of forgery and could face additional charges, such as theft, when officers file a grand-jury packet.
