Anabel Lee (Horter) Berresford, age 91, of Daugherty Twp., stepped into the presence of the Lord on April 20, 2018. Anabel was born in New Brighton, Pa., on March 29, 1927, the oldest of four children of George William Horter and Twila Ruth (Majors) Horter. She graduated from Rochester High School in 1945 and was employed at Freedom Oil from 1945 until 1950. Anabel married her soulmate, Kenneth Wayne Berresford, on April 3, 1948, and together they had five children. She was a lifetime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in New Brighton, where she taught Sunday School for 25 years, was an elder for eight years, sang both in the choir and as a soloist and was active in Pilots of Progress. Anabel enjoyed the New Brighton Women's Club and held various offices including President over the years. She also assisted with PTA, Cub Scouts and Brownies. She loved music, bowling, reading, and gardening. Anabel was predeceased by her husband (1986), mother (1986), father (1992), sister, Dorothy Jean Burr (1986), and brother William George Horter (2011); as well as her mother-in-law, Margaret (Inman) Berresford (1964), and her father-in-law, John W. Berresford (1964). She is survived by her children, Gary Wayne (Alma) Berresford, Wormleysburg, Pa.; Robert Lee (Jayne) Berresford, Beaver Falls; Donna Lee (Vincent) Fazzoni, Butler; David Wayne (Patricia) Berresford, Glen Allen, Va., and Penny Lee (Roger) Novak, Rochester. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Amanda (David) Clifton, Gretchen (Tim) Alleman, Jason Berresford, Joshua Berresford, Nicholas (Kali) Fazzoni, Marissa Berresford, Kailee (Patrick) Wallace, Casey Novak (William Kucinski) and Nathan (Melissa) Novak, and four great-grandchildren, Logan Clifton, Kahlan Clifton, Caden Fazzoni and Lily Wallace. She is also survived by one brother, Gaylord Leslie (Liz) Horter; a sister-in-law, Barbara Horter, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Saturday, April 28, 2018, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Private interment will follow in the Garden of The Last Supper, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
