Guar seed futures slip on weak spot cues

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

seed prices fell by Rs 13.50 to Rs 4,190 per in futures trade today on offloading of holdings in line with weak physical markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, seed for delivery in June slipped by Rs 13.50, or 0.32 per cent, to Rs 4,190 per with an open interest of 40,680 lots.

seed for the most-traded May contracts also moved down by Rs 6.50, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 4,147.50 per with an open interest of 1,19,560 lots.

Marketmen attributed the fall in seed futures to a weak trend at the physical markets due to ample stocks on persistent supplies from growing regions amid muted demand from gum makers.
