J&K: Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Patel shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama district |

A senior political activist of the Congress, Ghulam Nabi Patel, was killed and two of his Personal Security Officers, PSOs, injured after unknown militants attacked them in south Kashmir's Pulwama district this afternoon. Patel sustained grievous injuries in the attack in Rajpora area of the district. He later succumbed to his injuries while on way to hospital.
One of two PSOs, namely Imtiyaz Ahmad, is in a critical condition. He received a bullet in his chest and is presently under treatment at a hospital in Srinagar. Ghulam Nabi Patel Patel was a resident of Dangerpora Shadimarg in the district.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has condemned the killing of Patel. In a tweet, she expressed her heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. A manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers. No militant group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
