State inks pact for university ranking

The State government on Tuesday has signed an agreement with a private organisation, the Indian Centre for Academic Rankings and Excellence (Icare) to assess and rank the 13 universities under the Higher Education Department.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on Tuesday.

The exercise will help identify the strengths and weaknesses of each department in the universities and ultimately help improve their position in the National Institutional Ranking Framework, according to a release.
