The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday began test runs on a section of Pink Line between Lajpat Nagar and Sir Vishweshwaraiah Moti Bagh stations.

The 8.10-km-stretch is a part of the upcoming 59-km-long Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar line.

DMRC Managing Director Mangu Singh flagged off the test run. This line will be an extension of the currently operational Majlis Park-Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus section of the Pink Line.

During these trials, the interface of the Metro will be checked to ensure that there is no physical infringement with civil infrastructure during the train movement, the DMRC said, adding that it will also test the various subsystems of the coaches.
