25-year-old found hanging from tree in Greater Noida

Greater Noida: A 25-year old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Surajpur on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Amit Valmiki, originally from Bulandshahr. The deceased family suspect the involvement of local youths in his death.
Pankaj Rai, SHO, Surajpur police station, said that the deceased worked in a private factory in Surajpur.

“On Tuesday night he left the house for work, when he did not return, his family members started looking for him, but couldn’t find him. In the morning, some passersby spotted the body hanging from a tree and informed us,” he said.

A police team reached the spot and brought the body down. Valmiki’s family also reached the spot looking for him. They could not state any specific reason behind the supposed suicide, and said that he had issues with local youths, who could be behind his death, though cops said it seems Valmiki committed suicide.

Police said the body has been sent for post-mortem and medical reports are awaited. “The family members have not filed any complaint in this matter. We will investigate the case once a complaint is filed,” Rai said.
